For those of you who haven’t visited yet…I’m taking part in The Johanson Project‘s 2012 Reveiw Extravaganza. Each week in December, you take time to review three months of the past year. It’s been really helpful for me, as I have a tendency to be overly hard on myself and only look towards where I need to be in the future and how far I am from that. This helps me remember the little moments and how far I’ve come. If I can make it this far…I can definitely keep going =)
April
Does anything ever happen in April? April was a very social month for me, I guess you would say. Let’s see. I held a lot of odd-jobs in April that actually turned out to be really fun. I was a nanny for an adorable 5-year-old boy name Henrik, who never ceased to make me laugh with all his crazy costumes that he wore every day. Or when I told him we had to stop playing because I had lost my bracelet and we needed to go find it. He promptly stopped his dinasour roar, rolled onto his knees and moaned “This is not real life.” I agree, Henrik, I agree. He also made me play baseball…in a pencil skirt. My second odd-job was being an art model for the art department. At first I thought it would be hard…but I LOVED it. It gave me a chance to see something I hadn’t before, and to see the true dedication of the professor to their students (I am such a nerd, but I love that). Plus, a drawing of me sold for $200–not bad, not bad. I went to my last sorority formal and had a fabulous time.
May
Oh May, it’s still rather difficult to speak about you–or believe you even happened at all. In the bittersweet fate that is Graduation, we were cruely ripped from our 4-year homes with all our friends and familiarity and thrown into the real world. Like I said, bittersweet. As much as I may complain, I am blessed to have gone to a college where I can be this sad about having to leave. Still…I can’t believe it happened. Fortunately, to cushion the sting of the blow, I got to fly immediatly to Idaho and be in my cousin Meg’s wedding! What an absolute blessing to be part of their big day. I can’t go on enough about how freaking cute it was. They got married outside of a barn in the Idaho foothills, and then the reception was inside. ADORABLE. I DIE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. Thank you Meg, for letting me be part of it!
June
I’ll get back to you on this one? 😉 I don’t think I did a whole lot besides read, lay in the sun and play with my niece. But really…is there anything better? I was exhausted from graduating, and your typical postgrad-frenzy hunting for a job as if it was the last thing I could do to keep me alive for another day. My friend Cade and I started volunteering for WAR International, an amazing place that helps women escape sexual slavery and learn a new trade or skill that will allow them to STAY out.
Well kids, that’s all for now! Check back soon….and start this project yourself! It truly is really rewarding. And it will keep your mind off the fact that Gossip Girl is ending forever in 4 days. Ahhhhhh =(
